There are people in the world who really go the distance for their friends.
You know the type- you ask for a little help, they show up early, stay late, and leave you going "What a cool friend!"
Well, when I asked several friends about what it takes to produce tracks, most of them were like "blah blah, check out some websites, buy a book..."
But David Starfire told me "come over on saturday. I'll show you everything I know. "
Sat me down in his studio, loaded up a track he was working on, gave me the overview, then the details on tweaking a track, What programs to get, where to get them, spent several hours going over all of this, then loaded me up with a grocery bag full of music magazines, and a tall spindle of loops, samples, and synths to take home and start producing.
It was totally touching, and was my introduction to making music on the computer.
So needless to say, I was totally happy to be able to throw him his CD release party.
David Starfire's new Bollywood Bass album rocks. You can get it on his website:

Now that was a fun saturday. All went very well with Pantheon.
Starfire dropped an inspiring set,
The fire marshall was professional and supportive, made sure we were safe.
There was a great turn out.
The Funkworks Function One sound system is mind blowing.
I swear playing on that sound system is like driving a stolen ferrari.
